The CUK Korean Language Institute held the "8th Korean Language Festival for Foreigners" event on Friday, November 1, at the Concert Hall. Approximately 600 international students from 19 countries, including Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Myanmar, France, and the United States, gathered to showcase their talents prepared by each team and shared moments of harmony.
The Korean Language Festival for Foreigners is a program designed to allow international students to freely speak the Korean language they have learned, deepen their understanding of Korean culture, and interact with their peers.
President Jong-chul Won, in his congratulatory address, stated, “Studying a language can help one understand the true meaning of its culture through the process of learning and understanding. I hope this event allows you to enjoy Korean culture and makes happy memories for you so that it assists in your Korean language studies,” encouraging the students.
During the three-hour-long event, Team Knock Knock’s won first prize with their play "Meeting Again." The second prize went to Hwang Tan Dat (individual winner) and Team To You. The third prize was awarded to Team Lovely Winner, Caitlin (individual winner), and Team Lovely Sisters.
Team Knock Knock's Nozomi (exchange student / regular student at the Korean Language Institute), whose team received the first prize, shared her thoughts: “We won first place as a result of the hard work and dedication of my classmates who prepared for the event with me. I am grateful to the Catholic University of Korea for hosting such an event. This experience, where I felt love and affection, will remain a cherished memory of my time in Korea.”
