The dormitories at The Catholic University of Korea's Songsim Campus provide essential facilities for students from distant locations and international students, offering them the opportunity to experience diverse cultures in the global era. Through communal living, these dormitories aim to foster mutual respect and a spirit of autonomy and cultivate "true intellectuals."
Dormitory Stephen
The Dormitory Stephen, located on the 4th through the 15th floors of Kim Sou-hwan Hall, was completed in September 2009 in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of The Catholic University of Korea's foundation. With 383 rooms, including those for students with disabilities, it can accommodate approximately 1,160 students.
Each floor of the Dormitory features laundry rooms, lounges (equipped with water purifiers and microwaves), public restrooms, and seminar rooms. Additionally, there are storage rooms on two floors. The 4th floor houses common lounges, rooms for students with disabilities, and the Management Team of Dormitory's office. On the 1st floor of Kim Sou-hwan Hall, there are amenity facilities such as a convenience store, restaurants, cafes, a laundry room, a reading room, a computer room, a gym, and indoor gymnasiums for students living in the dormitory.
The Catholic University of Korea will continue to strive to expand stable residential welfare for students in the future.
Andreas Dormitory
The Andrea Dormitory, with construction beginning in March 2020, was completed in April 2022 to provide students with a comfortable living environment and study space. The building was named after Cardinal Yeom Soo-jung, the chairman of the Catholic Academy of the School Corporation at the time of its establishment.
It has a total of 238 rooms (two-person rooms), including rooms for students with disabilities, located on the 3rd to 10th floors, accommodating up to 476 students. The common areas are equipped with various facilities, including a self-service parcel room, mailboxes, shared laundry rooms, and lounges on each floor. The 1st and 2nd floors feature study and relaxation spaces (CUK Extra-curricular Innovation Lounge) that are easily accessible to dormitory residents.
With the completion of Andrea Dormitory, more students now have access to a comfortable and stable living environment.
Francesco Dormitory
The Francesco Dormitory is an apartment-style dormitory located within a 5-minute walk from the main entrance of The Catholic University of Korea Completed in September 2023, it opened in the first semester of the 2024 academic year. This 14-story building contains 28 units, with two units on each floor. Each unit is designed like a typical home, accommodating one or two students per room, and includes a shared living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Each unit is fully equipped with appliances (refrigerator, microwave, induction, air conditioner, wireless router) and furniture (beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, dining tables, conference tables), allowing for individual cooking. The basement level (B1) features a common entrance, parking area, communal laundry room and mailbox area.
In addition, the dormitory is conveniently located within a 3-minute walk of various amenities, including a convenience store, self-service laundry, supermarket, and an administrative welfare center, offering easy access to essential services. Furthermore, it also features a comprehensive safety and security management system, with fire safety measures and CCTVs in place for common areas. With the opening of Francesco Dormitory, we now provide convenient and comfortable accommodations for a total of 116 domestic and international students.
