- The second-highest competition rate in the past 10 years

- The highest competition was in the Pharmacy Department Essay Test, reaching 203.8:1, followed by the Pre-medical Essay Test with 164.3:1   

 The Catholic University of Korea's 2025 early admission application process has closed with 26,646 applicants for 1,339 available spots, resulting in an average competition rate of 19.9 to 1. This is the second-highest competition rate in the past decade.

 The most competitive program this year was the essay test for the School of Pharmacy, with 1,630 applicants vying for eight spots, resulting in a competition rate of 203.8 to 1. This marks the third consecutive year that the School of Pharmacy has had the highest competition rate among all programs.

 The second-highest competition was in the Pre-medical Essay Test, closing at 164.3 to 1, with 3,122 applicants for 19 spots. Other highly competitive programs included △ Psychology (44:1), △ Japanese Studies (Comprehensive Evaluation for Outstanding Potential) (42.4:1), and △ Humanities and Social Sciences (essay track) (38.8:1).

 Among key admission tracks, the essay track saw the highest overall competition rate, with 9,572 applicants for 178 spots, resulting in an average competition rate of 53.8 to 1. The Outstanding Potential Interview Track, which accepted only 43 students, attracted 1,575 applicants, closing with an average competition rate of 36.6 to 1. Despite selecting students only from newly established interdisciplinary programs (the School of Liberal Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences and Engineering), this track also recorded high competition.

 The university will begin essay exams on Sunday, October 6, followed by various essay and interview evaluations through early December. Admission results for each track will be announced sequentially, starting in late November.
