The Catholic University of Korea-ASEAN 2024 Workshop for Korean Language Teachers

 'The Catholic University of Korea(CUK)-ASEAN 2024 Workshop for Korean Language Teachers' hosted by Korean Language Institute was held for four nights and five days from the 14th to the 18th. About 20 Korean language teachers from 12 universities in Vietnam including 'Vietnam National University, Hanoi' and 'HUFLIT5' attended to the workshop.


 This workshop was designed to form a network between CUK and ASEAN national universities for international interaction and cooperation and to build a foundation for attracting students who have the demand for learning Korean in the ASEAN region to CUK international students. 



 The workshop was proceeded by the following of △Seoul Tour for Cultural Experiences △ Academic Presentation and Workshop on Korean Language Teaching Method △ Educational Direction on Foreign Students in Korea & CUK Internationalization Program △ Campus Tour with CUK official ambassador 'Cahong'.



 Korean language teachers had a time to giva a academic presentations on Korean language teaching methods and interact each other through academic presentations under the theme of the current status and improvement direction of Korean intermediate grammar education at Universities in Southern Vietnam centered on Ho Chi Minh City Open University and research on Korean language learner's strategies on request speech act.


 Park Hee-chan, head of Korean Language Institute said, "There are Korean language departments in 46 universities in Vietnam, and 15,000 Korean learners have a demand for Korean language learning and education. We hope this workshop will build  a foundation for attracting Korean learners in ASEAN regions to CUK students."



 Pham Thi Bich Dao, a Korean language teacher at Hanoi Dynam University, said, "Vietnamese students have always had a need for Korean teaching methods, learning Korean, and cultural exchanges, but it was a hard that there were not many such exchanges," adding, "This workshop was very helpful for Korean education by providing a place for international exchange for Korean language teachers at the workshop."
