On the 24th, Social Value Realization Center held the '1st Academic Event with the Community: Discussion on Treatment and Prevention Policies for Drug Addiction' at the Bucheon City Hall Communication Plaza.

 The discussion, co-hosted by Department of Addiction Studies and the Addiction Research Institute, Bucheon City, and Bucheon-City Pharmaceutical Association, was attended by approximately 70 people including professors from the Department of Addiction Studies, healthcare experts, and citizens and shared their various opinion on discussion.

 In congratulatory remarks, president Won Jong-cheol of CUK encouraged the activities of the Social Value Realization Center that create sustainable value and hoped that this academic event, which cooperates with local governments and community organizations, would be held successfully so that it could contribute to the integrated development of the community.

 Professor Lee Hae-guk (College of Medicine and Department of Addiction Studies) and Professor Ha Min-gyeong (Department of Law and Addiction Studies), who are the directors of our university's Addiction Research Institute, presented suggestions from various perspectives on drug addiction and the legal system.

 The following discussion was attended by △Won min, director of Health City Division of Bucheon City △Seonhee Yoon of Bucheon-City Pharmaceutical Association △Nam Gyeong-ae, deputy director of Incheon City Drug Eradication Movement Headquarters Treatment and Rehabilitation △Kim Ji-yeon, deputy director of Addiction Research Institute △Jang Hyeong-min, CEO of Inorics △ Lee Jae-hee, a graduate student of the department of Addiction Studies.

 Ha Min-kyung, director of the Social Value Realization Center, said, “Starting with this academic event, we will continue to work to create sustainable values that contribute to the development of the community by sharing the achievements of  CUK on social issues that citizens are interested in and by establishing a venue for continuous communication with the local community.”
