2024 JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings: 1st in the SDGs Category

In the 2024 JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings, CUK ranked 1st in the SDGs category.
The JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings selected 62 major universities in Korea as evaluation subjects and divided them into four categories: ▲Comprehensive Evaluation ▲Engineering ▲Basic Sciences ▲Education and Innovation.
Our university was honored to achieve 1st place in the SDGs category within the "Education and Innovation" sector of the JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings. The university excelled across all indicators, including △Gender equality among full-time faculty (6th place), △Staff-to-student ratio in the Disability Support Center (10th place), and △Sexual harassment and assault counseling staff ratio (1st place), achieving an overall 1st place ranking.
The "Comprehensive Evaluation" assessed 54 universities offering a balanced range of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering studies. CUK received high evaluations in the following metrics: △Education expenditure per student (6th place) and △Material acquisition budget per student (1st place), securing 13th place in the "Educational Conditions" category. In the "Student Performance" category, the university excelled in △Graduate school enrollment rate (10th place), △Startup sustainability (6th place), and △Fieldwork participation rate (8th place). In the "Faculty Research" category, the △International journal publications (SCIE level) per faculty member ranked 15th.
The evaluations for natural sciences and engineering colleges were divided into "Basic Sciences" and "Engineering." The "Basic Sciences" category evaluation was done for universities with departments related to chemistry, life sciences, environmental science, mathematics, physics, astronomy, and earth sciences. CUK ranked 5th in Korea among 54 universities for △External professional experience among faculty members metric. The "Engineering" category evaluation was done for a total of 62 universities with departments related to electrical, electronics, computer, mechanical, chemical, polymer, energy, and materials engineering. CUK ranked 10th in Korea for the △Proportion of foreign faculty metric.
