Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation Recognized for Excellence in Research Administration

△ Catholic University of Korea’s Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation receives Special Award (Institutional Category) and Grand Prize and Excellence Award (Individual Category) at the 2024 Research Administration Expert Competition


 The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at The Catholic University of Korea (led by Professor Seok-koo Cho) was recognized for its excellence in research administration, winning the Special Award in the Institutional Category and the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award in the Individual Category at the 2024 Research Administration Expert Competition.


 Organized by the National Research Foundation of Korea and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, this competition aims to enhance research administration capabilities across universities and government-funded research institutes, with a focus on transparency and efficiency in managing government-funded research grants.


 The 2024 competition saw 632 participants from 136 institutions competing in a rigorous selection process that included preliminary and final rounds evaluating research grant management capabilities. The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation at The Catholic University of Korea stood out, sending the largest number of finalists and achieving one of the highest institutional scores, securing the Special Award in the Institutional Category.


 In the Individual Category, two members of the university’s research administration team were recognized for their outstanding expertise: Bo-mi Hwang (Research Management Team) won the Grand Prize; and Yun-a Kang (Research Management Team) received the Excellence Award. These achievements highlight the high level of professionalism within the university’s research management team and the comprehensive training and support provided by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.


 Professor Seok-koo Cho, Director of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, commented, "This competition has reaffirmed not only the excellence of our university’s research achievements but also the strength of our research administration. Moving forward, we will continue to build a stable research support system and enhance staff expertise to further advance academic research."


 This recognition underscores the critical role of strong research administration in achieving research excellence. Moving forward, the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation aims to set a national benchmark in research administration, ensuring continued innovation and leadership in research management.
